General Studies Homework & BOOK FAIR!
Hello Grade 2 parents,
Here are the homework tasks for this week. Here is the video for the Social Studies task. Reminder: in class today, your child will choose ONE task to complete and it is due on Monday of next week. Completing any additional tasks is optional! Your child can also always log in to IXL to finish the assigned Math skills or work on the skills from the recommendation wall.

Happy PD day!
I wanted to update you on how Scholastic orders will work this year! In order to reduce the need for flyers and money to be passed around between students, teachers, and parents, Scholastic has upgraded their online ordering system! You can order whenever you’d like through the online catalogue AND it will ship directly to your home!! When you use our class code (RC110679) you earn rewards for our class and you even receive free shipping on all orders over $35.00. This is not at all a mandatory program, however, I know some families do appreciate the convenience of ordering books from Scholastic.

Hi Grade 2 Families,
As you may already know, we launched our class Twitter accounts this week! We will be using our 2A and 2B twitter accounts to share what we are doing in class and to become globally connected learners! We will be using Twitter to amplify our learning, connect with other Grade 2 classes, and maybe even connect with some scientists, authors, or mathematicians! Please “follow us” on our learning journey!

Winter Wear
Hello Grade 2 Parents,
This is a friendly reminder to please make sure your child has all of the appropriate winter wear for this cold weather! Hats, mitts, neck warmers, snow pants (for warmth), boots… etc.
Even with this colder weather, we are continuing to go outside for 40 minutes in the first recess break and 20 minutes in the second recess break.

Friendly reminder that tomorrow is a dress down day! Don’t forget your loonies and toonies!

Back to School Night
Hi Grade 2 Parents,
This is a friendly reminder that our Virtual Back to School Night is tonight! The Grade 2 Teachers will be hosting a Google Meet from 8:00-8:30pm.

Maccabiah Games 2020
Hello Grade 2 Students and Parents!
We are so excited for this year’s #OJCSonline Virtual Maccabiah Games on Friday, June 5th from 9AM until 3PM!
Here is what you need to know:
The day will be a mixture of team meetings on Google Meet (links will be on our regular class schedule) and a series of missions on the app GooseChase. This is an event for the whole family! Parents and siblings can all play together! Please let Morah Lianna know if your child is NOT going to be playing with a parent or older sibling so we can team them up with an older student or teacher.
