La semaine de la Francophonie!

Dear Parents,

I am  excited to share how much our Grade 2 students enjoyed celebrating La Semaine de la Francophonie!

Throughout the week, students engaged in a variety of activities that immersed them in French language and culture. We explored well-known French cartoons and stories such as Barbapapa, Les Schtroumpfs, Astérix et Obélix, Le Petit Nicolas et Caillou. These helped students develop their listening skills and expand their vocabulary in a fun and interactive way. We also practiced reading and learning new words together.

Our classroom was beautifully decorated with the cartoon characters and students took great pride in colouring and contributing to the display. We also enjoyed listening to French songs like “Michelle” and “Regarde,” which the students really loved.

One of the highlights for Grade 2 was a creative activity where students became robots! They imagined robots who eat screws, electricity, and batteries. They described how robots move by turning and jumping and how they help humans by fixing problems like rust and water damage. Some even imagined living on the moon, leading to very creative discussions in French.

It has been a wonderful week filled with creativity, learning, and enthusiasm. We are very proud of the students’ engagement and progress! I hope you enjoyed your kiddos in the videos that I sent you.
