Learning with Ziv Shilon

Today, the Grade 2 class had the incredible opportunity to Skype with Ziv Shilon.

Ziv Shilon is an extremely brave IDF officer who lost his arm while protecting the rest of his soldiers. We learned about his bravery and resilience in class. We did research online and Fenway shared the information he learned about Ziv Shilon from his parents at home. We prepared for the Skype call by creating a list of questions about everything we would want to know about Ziv Shilon.

We had an amazing 30 minute long Skype call with Ziv and asked him all of our questions… the questions ranged from his job in the army, the accident where he lost his arms, his prosthetic arm, his family, the Iron Man races he does, and his job now. Ziv opened up about his life and his inspirational story with us.

The entire Grade 2 class was so inspired by his story and his resiliency. All of the students were so thankful that Ziv took the time out of his day to video chat with us and answer all of our questions. He is so kind and special.

A special thank you to Josh Zaret for coordinating this Skype call and connecting us with Ziv Shilon.
